An apostille is an authentication certificate issued by the Texas Secretary of State that makes a document valid in the 120+ countries that recognize the Hague Apostille Convention. If your document is going to a foreign country, you likely need it. If it is staying in the US (USCIS, employer, Texas court), you typically do not.
